It was 6-10yrs ago since I've been wanting, wishing and yes PRAYING for a movie team-up of my Ultimate Showbiz Crush Piolo Pascual and One of my only Few Well-Followed Young Actress in Philippine Cinema Toni Gonzaga, grabe tagal ng hinintay ko, everytime na magkaka-movie si Toni with other leading man I am always saying na "Sana si Piolo naman ang sumunod," same goes with Piolo everytime he was teamed-up to other Actresses either on TV or Movie, I am always wishing na "Sana si Piolo naman!" Hindi lang naman ako actually ang nag-abang ng ganun katagal even my ate and my Mami. Kinikilig kami sa mga movies nila or projects nila with other "katambal/loveteam" pero lagi na lang na tinatanong naming ang isa't isa "Kelan naman kaya sila ni Piolo?"

Like one of Ginny's line in the movie, "Tinutulungan na tayo ng Universe" and I think ganun din ang nangyari dito sa project na ito. Finally the Universe, the Stars have aligned perfectly to make a new constellation exclusively dedicated to Toni and Piolo. And that Constellation was named #STARtingoveragain.

It was last year ng mabasa ko sa twitter while searching the word Piolo, may mga tweets/ig ng mga pics ng shooting sa isang school of him with Toni. Nakasulat nga sa mga tweets na nabasa ko "OMG ang gwapo ni Piolo they were shooting at my school," and iyon nga na-curious na ako then nabasa ko rin sa mga tweets na may movie nga si Piolo and Toni na UNLOVE YOU (working title).

I am a Piolo fan I must say, kasi halos lahat ng movie nya pinanood ko sa sine. Pero hindi ako yung tipong kasali sa fans club nya or sa fans club ng mga loveteams nya. Wala akong litrato sa wall ko o posters ng may mukha nya. Wala akong banner/tarp ng I LOVE YOU PIOLO but definitely I am always interested to him. Other than his twitter account I don't follow him on other social networking sites. Kuntento na ako sa twitter nya, which I don't religiously read too, kasi I seldom visit my twitter account. Pero 'pag nag-twit ako ay naku, talaga naman I'll flood the timeline of my very few followers in not just an hour but more than 6hrs. Which is nakakahiya nga sa mga nagpa-follow sa akin, well sorry po. Most of my twits naman ay about Piolo, Alaska Aces, minsan politics at minsan nakiki-bandwagon na din sa mga #hashtags & topics na tumi-trending.

So heto na, this year I guess... nabasa ko sa timeline ko a general twit of @PJPcom na #StartingOverAgain. Aba yung UNLOVE YOU naging STARTING OVER AGAIN. Nakups, as in pagkabasa ko nung hashtag na 'yun napakanta na agad ako ng...

Favorite ko 'yan song na 'yan eh. Everytime I do my laundry or taking a bath naha-hum or nakakanta ko 'yan eh. It's like di siya theme-song ng buhay ko but the melody is just so beautiful. Yung lyrics tapos 'pag ninamnam mo talagang tatagos at tatagos sa puso.

So when the Star Cinema have changed the UNLOVE YOU to STARTING OVER AGAIN, for me, it spells more magic. It creates much more noise, much more "masa" appeal. Ganun ang tao eh, kung ano yung mas relatable sa pandinig nila mas nagiging malapit sa puso nila. So again the STARS indeed align for this movie.

MY OWN REVIEW for this movie:

The Casts & Characters:
Piolo - his acting was quiet-down a bit but definitely you can dig the sincerity on his part to do what Marco should do; to talk like how Marco should talk. His character wasn't too exquisite but he as a professor there is a sense of eloquence. Parang poetic pero simple lang.

Toni - I know it's too early to conclude pero for me she is worthy of being nominated as BEST ACTRESS. She gave life to every bit of Ginny's evolution in the story. Malalim kasi yung character ni Toni and she really did a splendid job.

I don't idolize Toni (wala ako posters nya, I don't religiously patronizing her endorsements) pero lagi akong interested sa gagawin nya and for me she's only one of the few ladies in showbiz that a conservative girl (like me) can appreciate and relate to. And for me talagang complete actress/performer siya. But definitely all of these has nothing to do with how I view her performance on this movie.

Like PJ most of her movies napanood ko and on my part I have no doubt that this is HER BEST so far.

Iza - I have watched "Milan", Piolo's movie with Claudine. Iza was still with GMA that time. She got a little-role in Milan pero yung impact nya sa character ni Piolo on that movie and how she give life to it, you will know that she is a great actress.

There's no role too little for her.

And she didn't fail my expectation again, on this movie. Nung nalaman ko na kasama siya sa movie ni Piolo and Direk Olivia Lamasan, I know isa ako sa naging excited and masaya talaga. Kasi it's about time for her to do a movie again in Star Cinema at yung reunion I know for sure will be sure hit.

If I were a boy I would fell in love with Patty. And me as a girl, naramdaman ko yung kung gaano niya kamahal si Marco.

Supporting casts well Beauty Gonzales definitely stands out. Lahat sila even Lito Pimentel they attacked their role like how should they give justice to it.

The characters have reminded me of some of those people I know. And some of their stories/traits/experience I could say na nangyari sa akin or ganun din ako.

So definitely I can say the casting was spot-on and the characters were no superficial, they were someone you can bumped on 3x out of 7days.

The Story-plot/Dialogues/Scenes:

Very Realistic.

* Yung letter ang sakit, naiyak ako.

* Yung palitan ng sumbatan nila Marco & Ginny kahit hindi siya heavily-acted, sobrang tatagos pa din sa puso mo. Yung titigan nila, yung munting gestures at yung DIALOGUES grabeh, talagang parang hihimayin yung puso mo.

* Yung confrontation scenes nila Ginny & Patty, it was subtle and simple but it was so heartfelt. Mararamdaman mo yung pinaghuhugutan nila at mas maiintindihan mong magkaibang klase man ng pag-iibigan ay hindi mo pa rin masasabing mas higit o mas lamang unless alam mong appreciated iyon ng taong pinaguukulan mo ng pagmamahal.

* Bed Scene, I didn't felt awkward watching it. Kakaiba but it won't make you turn red na parang mahihiya ka. Basta one of a kind, hahaha.

* And the 7th or 6th scene before the last scene of the movie. Ang sakit.  I am not sure if I counted it right pero around ganun sequence yun. Pwede mong I-play yung "Killing Me Softly" or "How Can I Not Love You."

When you were gone.

After watching it pumalakpak ako and marami kami, halos lahat ng nasa sine pumalakpak. This is actually my first time to watch on the First-Day of Screening ng Nationwide realease ng isang movie.

Ang saya ko, kasi alam kong sulit yung paghihintay ko na magkatotoo yung pinangarap ko 6-10yrs ago, at yung anticipation ko na maganda yung movie na ito, hindi dahil sa kung paano siya nai-promote kung hindi dahil alam kong Star Cinema 'yun.

Si Toni Gonzaga pa ang bida sa RomCom na panonoorin ko, tapos crush ko si Piolo or basta nagagwapuhan lang sa kanya;

Or dahil nakarelate ka agad sa see-ins/trailer ng pelikula or you just like the official sound track. Kapag iyon pinagsama-sama, lahat or kahit dalawa man sa mga factors na 'yun, sigurado di ka magsisi na pinanood mo, ginastusan mo ng P200.00 o higit pa at inaksayahan mo ng Dalawang-Oras at Sampung-Minuto.

DEFINITELY IT'S WORTH IT.

Q- Bitin ba ako?
A- Yes! Nabitin ako. Actually I am already looking forward to their next movie team-up.

And I am happy for the #StartingOverAgain team kasi even 11am (1st screening) siya ang dami na agad tao sa sine. If it reflects the turnout of other cinemas what more the evening screening of this movie for sure triple the number nung mga nanood. If magpapakahenyo ako sa pag-estimate ng 1st-day with reference of the Cinema I had went to I guess aabutin ng 35M ang Gross (Ticket Sale).

Solo ko siyang pinanood, kasi dapat kasama ko mommy and ate ko, unfortunately my mom is not too healthy now; and she's battling her asthma for many years kaya impossible for her to watch it on cinema. Pero I did prayed na pwede siya, kaya lang talagang may ubo-ubo siya ngayon, kaya promise ko na lang sa kanila ng ate ko I'll buy the DVD as soon as it becomes available to market.

Mga friends ko naman it is either they are not into Tagalog movies, they were not free for today. Eh ako gusto ko talagang maging part sa 1st-day rush.

Ngayon I am contemplating of watching this movie again with my cousins na pinangakuan kong ililibre kong manood. Since they can't din today because of their school-sched, eh solo-flight na 'ko, can't wait for weekend. Si BF naman nasa abroad.

Kaya nga sabi ko hindi ko alam kung malungkot ako dahil mag-isa akong nanood, o dahil talagang sobrang nadurog lang yung puso ko dahil sa story. But now I know, as I am writing this blog; I definitely know why I felt sad.

I am sad kasi I cannot UNLOVE the movie that made me laugh out loud, tickle with kilig moments and cried na humatong sa pagkakasipon. I am sad kasi tinamaan talaga ako sobra. It really hit hard within, yung parang what ifs...

Kaya ko lang gusto sanang I-unlove kasi ang sakit... waaaahhh!!! Napakain tuloy ako ng madami, eh I am cutting my food intake na nga eh. Asus. Starting Over Again na naman sa diet?

So now, I am not sure if I have the courage to ride the roller coaster of this movie. I'm such a cry-baby and emosyonal talaga ako kaya...
Bahala na if sasamahan ko pa cousins ko or bigyan ko na ang silang tatlo ng pang-sine at snacks.

THE VOICE PHILIPPINES (What an ending?)

The Voice Philippines Finale was held yesternight and on September 28. All performances were amazing but some were more & beyond and even close to perfection. It's already 2:00am of Monday and the last day of September yet I am still awake and a bit bewildered with the outcome of The Voice of the Philippines Finale; I thought that I could sleep (agad) after happily watching Vice Ganda's Gandang Gabi Vice with his very handsome guest Richard Gutierrez (a rare guesting at an ABS-CBN show), pero hindi pa rin pala.

I just can't get over with the result of the votes of the Superb Singing-Talent Show in my most fave and the only Kapamilya network. What happened to the voting lines or the system? It is like it is more than a technical glitch, ano ito dayaan? Scam? I really can't help but think.

I wouldn't be much that puzzled if only my votes and my family votes got in! I have three cellphones with a total of 5 sims; so I did type VOICE KLARISSE and send it as soon as the voting lines were opened. I am waiting for a confirmation that my vote was counted, 5mins... 8mins... then boom after 30mins, I received a confirmation that reads "The Voice: The Voice of the Philippines voting is closed...." my reaction was, seriously? Really? 

I would be honest I don't like the result. Because of the reasons:

1) I preferred Janice over Mitoy.

2) Klarisse is more consistent, throughout the competition. She is more versatile, she can sing like a sweet angel, she can belt like an amplifier, she can sing & rock any genre with purity and clarity. And no doubt she can put a lot of soul and emotions on a song that might have not reflect her life experiences (as she was just 17 years old). They say she's young, might not experienced a lot of troubles in life but yet she put the right amount of emotions to make her performances believable and relate-able.

Of course I got a bit upset with the result. I really like Janice and Klarisse to be on the last battle. They are the most versatile and their voice can do any vocal calisthenics. And this choice is not about because I am a big Sarah fan nor Apl De Ap is my biggest rap-idol, the choice has really nothing to do with it.

At early stages of the competition, my choice were these:

Lee, Janice, Radha, Klarisse, Morissette; it may seems I'm too feminist but nope it is because among the good talents out there they really shone the brightest.

On the latter part of the competition, I grew to enjoy all the 8-Quarterfinalists. I enjoy the knockdown-round between the remaining 2 artists of the same group/team. It was a bit painful to watch Morissette go and Radha go because they were also equally deserving of the spot.

I even hope that I could see in Finals Morissette and Klarisse which is impossible to happen with the kind of format the show had. I also dreamed of seeing Radha vs Janice showdown in Finale. In short, Mitoy was really not in the picture of my "Finale-fantasy".

Don't get me wrong though,I agree that he deserves the spot on the FINAL FOUR, for he also worked hard for it. But just like how Coach Lea have grade it, I have also rate Radha higher than Mitoy on that Face-Off.

Then come Finals; I'm really pinning my hopes to a Janice-Klarisse showdown, unfortunately it didn't materialized.

So the ending... well for me it's disappointing; for Klarisse De Guzman is the more deserving title-holder of THE VOICE. For being young as she is, she got the right swagger, the right attitude to still fight despite past stumble (vs her coach on a reality-talent search), the hardwork, she owns the voice quality that a diva have, a stage presence/performance that can level with other professional artists and again and again the versatility to attack any genre.

What maybe lacking to her? I don't know maybe the extraordinary CHARISMA that Mitoy have. That is the only edge that Mitoy have, if I may say so. But that's really nothing for me, for I believe that even the more experienced ones can be outclassed anytime by a sheer talent of a rookie.

I wouldn't post my rants on twitter, nor make this blog if only my votes and my family's votes went in! It's unfair! And I hate it! What's more unfortunate is I'm not the only one who had experienced this kind of voting-system booboo but there were also many as I read the twits on twitter. Ang daming bumoto for Klarisse na hindi nakatanggap ng positibong kumpirmasyon?

I wonder is there a scam? Is there voting-manipulation? What happened?

Anyway nothing will ever happen naman eh; I know results cannot be flipped in favor of Klarisse at all but I just want to voice out this disappointment. I am kapamilya and actually I won some of their text-games or even got called to play for a gameshow (because I they picked me thru text) but sometimes, this TEXT VOTEs they have been using for reality/talent search show was a bit tainted; parang may daya.

I hope ABS-CBN and The Voice of the Philippines will make some clarifications about it.

Despite the unhappy ending for some (kasama na ako, kasi nga boto ko hindi nabilang). I still won't take away the greatness and supremacy of ABS-CBN in creating a great FINALE for a show. The Voice of The Philippines Season 1 have shown a lot of great talents, have revealed and re-opened the door to already professional artists (who have once gone from the limelight), and welcomed new breeds of artists that will be the now & the next of the music industry, they have the great set of Coaches and great hosts. I really applaud the whole team of thevoicePH, kudos to Mr. Johnny Manahan and the whole company. And also thank you and I salute all the artists/performers who have graced the show.

Sobrang ganda ng Season 1 (kahit di ko gusto yung pinaka-ending); overall it made a huge impact. And I hope no one of the Final Four will be snob and just be rotten & forgotten; I hope the coaches will truly help them to pursue their career and I hope ABS-CBN will be willingly so. If no opportunities at ABS-CBN, I hope TV5 or GMA will adopt them they were too good to pass up, especially Klarisse and Janice.

Sana magka-album din si Morissette and Radha. I hope Thor, Myk and Paolo will be mainstays of ASAP too. Si Mitoy, he won naman eh kaya no problem na.

I am hopin' & wishin' for the best to everyone but still for me between Mitoy and Klarisse; Klarisse is the more deserving to be named as The Voice of The Philippines. (I really can't help but to emphasize it).

If Klarisse didn't made it last night, I hope she'll get discovered by Foreign Record Label, 'wag sanang masayang yung talento. Then I hope Janice could live on America and be an American Citizen so that she could join the American Idol, The Voice US or The X Factor.... kasi ibang klase talento nya. It would be unfair for such talent na dito lang makilala, sana they could make it to the global scene.

WHY? My P.O.V. on some current issues.

This is my 1st post for my ACEtcetera blog. This is my venue to pour out what's on my mind and what's in my heart regarding some issues affecting the country and/or maybe not. I'm not a law graduate so definitely there are very few things I know about legal issues. So these opinions are just based to what I know and what I believe in. So here are my takes on political and showbiz issues roaming around the Phil's world.


WHY GIVE THE PORK QUEEN, A SPECIAL SECURITY?

I agree on no special treatment: like secluding her on an air-conditioned-cell or allowing her something more than an ordinary "accused" person could have. And it turned out to be that way, thanks to the Government for being fair at it. So Janet Napoles was staying on a most simple cell not availing VIP treatment, like some of the convicted politicians and high figures committing great/capital crimes.

Accused/Charged - a person believed to have committed crime but still has the presumption of innocence; thus still have the rights of a free person.

Convicted - a person, adjudged guilty of a crime by the court of law; thus loses his/her right of liberty.

So I agree (so far) on how the government is treating Janet Napoles by giving her "SPECIAL SECURITY". But why?

My Opinion is, because:

1) Like how her Attorney Kapunan put it (which I have also believed, even before she said it on public), the accusation is SPECIAL on itself. The Fund/material involved was special on itself. Kaban ng Bayan ang pinag-uusapan at napakalaking halaga pa, hindi pipitsuging chicharon sa tabi-tabi.

2) Since Kaban ng Bayan ang usapan at sangkot sa supposed anomaly/scam ay ang mga "may kapangyarihan" na mga buwitreng mambabatas; it's not impossible to think that there is indeed a serious threat on Janet Napoles' safety. Paano kung may mga buwitre nga na ipapatay sya para di makapagsalita tungkol sa issue, hindi ba't mas malulugi ang sambayanan 'pag nagkataong kinatay ang Pork Queen?

These two reasons alone are valid arguments why should the Government give Janet Napoles a special security.

In the end, all of us agree that TRUTH must & should PREVAIL. I hope this Pork Barrel investigation and trial won't just simply end to a conviction of Janet Napoles, dapat yung mga MAKAKAPALMUKS na nakinabang dito Officials ng NGO at yung mga Congressman/Senate and everyone who was involved with it should also pay their dues (punishment, administrative & criminal penalty).

At sana din walang parole na ibigay sa lahat ng mga mapapatunayang nagkasala. At sana magsilbing mitsa na ito sa tunay na pagbabago ng sistema sa politika; lalo na sa paghawak ng kaban ng bayan.


WHY DO WE NEED PARTY-LIST?

This one I really don't know what's the use of having too many party-list representation in the lower house. Eh sa totoo lang do they represent the voices of minority/marginal groups of the society ba? Eh hindi naman yata, it is either they will just held welga or just sits there on the house and get swayed to vote in favor of the side that is giving them favors. Natutulungan ba talaga nila yung supposed "constituent" nila? Do they serve their supposed purpose? Sa totoo lang dagdag pasakit din sila sa bayan, yung mga pasweldo sa kanila ng sambayanan eh sana naiaabot na lang sa mga tagong tribo na di nakakaabot ng agarang tulong ng pamahalaan (either by their Local Gov't or by the Nat'l Gov't).

Imbes na sweldo kay Rep. Eklabu eh sana napakain na lang sa Tribung Huling Nakikinabang.

One titled-political figure like a President, Vice-President, Senator, Congressman, Governor, Vice-Governor, Mayor, Vice-Mayor, Councilor ay may mga more than 10 staffs. At kung babawasan ang bilang ng mga politikong-posisyon, mas magiging magaan ang paswelduhing "manlilingkod daw", eh di sana mas pwede na natin ibaba ang Tax na kinakaltas sa mga masisipag at nagsusumikap na simpleng taong walang kapangyarihan.

Sa totoo lang I don't get it? Why there should be a lot of politicians running our government? Eh kulang naman sa results. Halos hindi maramdaman.

Yung mga nangunguna sa maliit na Brgy. katulad ni Kapitan Kawatan at Kagawad Kamkam at Kagawad Katamaran eh wala rin mga ginawa, lahat paswelduhin lang ng sambayanan. Imbes na mapupunta sana ang budget sa pagkain, pag-aaral, agrikultura, inprastraktura, teknolohiya, komunikasyon at kalusugan eh napupunta lang sa payroll ng mga tamad at mapagsamantala.

I think it is about time to change the landscape of our politics. Change the system. If concon and chacha would translate to changing the system then so be it. It might be a risk-taking task to do, but if it will initiate then let's do it!

Ang daming batas natin. Ang daming mambabatas. But at the end of the day, were it even executed well? Were the politicians and those government officials and their subordinates served us?


WHY THERE ARE SEX SCANDALS?

Ano ba 'yan? Sobrang kababuyan.

Sex should be an act of love and not lust. It should be something treated with class, grace and privy between two persons in a relationship (ideally called marriage) with one another.

Yung issue ni Hayden Kho, akala ko with that matututo na tayo, pero hindi pa rin pala. Mga personalidad na tinitingala ng mga simpleng tao, akala ko naman di na nila pamamarisan pa si Hayden Kho. Yun pala they never learned? 

Kung taong may delicadeza at katinuan ka naman, why would you create a home-video of your sex acts? Kahit naman for between you and your partner lang 'yan, hindi mo ba natanong sa sarili mo... "Para saan ang sex video na ito? Eh kabisado ko naman yung experience between us, so bakit kailangan ko pa ng remembrance?" Hindi ba't para naman napakalaswa mo at napakahilig mo naman 'pag ganyan ka.

Anyone who makes video of his/her sex with someone is just a stupid pervert. Why make a video? It's insane! It's piggy-horrible!

Anyone who downloads the sex video, either with permission or non (dahil ninakaw lang) is also as stupid pervert as those who were in the video.

Anyone who keeps on watching the sex video (lalo na yung nasa media like press) is also taking part on the circus of these scandals. Hindi ba dapat nga mas manahimik na lang din kayo at hindi yung tipong ikakalat nyo pa yung link or show it on the magazines, newspapers, blogs, articles or any medium that will reach more people to be curious with it.

Ako I never watch any sex-video/sex-scandal, kasi ano mapapala ko dun? Manonood ako para matuto ng moves? Eeeeewwww! Never! Manonood ako para makita kung gaano kagaling si ganito at si ganyan? Eeeeeewwww! If against ako sa sex-video, dapat di ko gagawing manood. And I am happy and proud to say, I never watched any sex-video/sex-scandal of anyone or anybody. Never in my mind masisikmura kong manood ng sex-acts ng iba, napaka-kadiri naman nun. This is not hypocrisy, kasi ito ang totoo, hindi ako nanonood ng ganun. I maybe a celebrity fan, but to watch their private supposedly "intimate thing", NO WAY! IT'S A BIG NO! Ayoko nga, I'm for respecting one's privacy especially about sex.

I hope people will learn and starts to value "sex" with more dignity. It is an accessory gift of love, it is an act of love.
